Giants Will Outcoach The Eagles This Sunday

Heated rivals will match up at the Meadowlands this upcoming Sunday. The New York Giants (12-4) and the Philadelphia Eagles (10-6-1) will battle to see who goes to the NFC championship game. The Giants will win this game Sunday (knock on wood) because of coaching. Don't get me wrong, Andy Reid (Eagles Head Coach) is a good coach but how many times have his teams choked before? Somehow you know the Eagles will crash and burn Sunday. The answer lies with Brian Westbrook (Eagles Running Back).

The Giants game plan Sunday will be to shut down Brian Westbrook. This is something Andy Reid doesn't mind because he has been known to abandon the running game. The Eagles will look to find Westbrook on screens and short passes but the Giants will be ready for it. The playoffs separate the great coaches from the good coaches and the good coaches from the bad

ones. This is where Tom Coughlin (Giants Head Coach) has an
advantage over Andy Reid.

Tom Coughlin is a patient individual and he and Kevin Gilbride (Giants Offensive Coordinator) will not abandon their running game Sunday; no matter how bad it may start out against a ferocious Eagles blitz. The Giants running game (number 1 in the NFL) led by Brandon Jacobs advanced the Giants to this point. Coach Coughlin is a great coach and will stick to his philosophy and game plan of controlling the clock and running the ball (don’t forget last year’s Super Bowl). Andy Reid on the other hand loves to pass the ball and will go away from Westbrook. That is a mistake because Westbrook is arguably the best running back in football and everyone knows the Eagles win games based on his performances.

To be a successful coach you must always stick to your coaching philosophy and your game plan. The great coaches will stay poised and stick to their guns even when things are not going well. Tom Coughlin and the Giants will control the game clock Sunday and run the hell out of the ball. The Giants will shut down the Eagles running game and Andy Reid will abandon his best weapon (Westbrook) and try to win by throwing the ball with Donovan McNabb (Eagles quarterback). Andy Reid will once again be outcoached in a playoff game. That is why he will never be considered a great coach.
